Sri Lanka agreed for a third party test for Chinese fertilizer – Ambassador says

Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong told the media from Kandy yesterday that Sri Lankan authorities and the Chinese company have agreed to have another sample test for refused pathogen contained Chinese fertilizer from a third party.
The Ambassador further said that the issue of the Chinese organic fertilizer ship has been politicized by a small faction of Sri Lankans and that the issue has been complicated by the publication of fake news.

He was speaking to the media after visiting the Asgiriya Chapter and visiting the Asgiriya Chapter Leader Most Ven. Warakagoda Gnanaratana Thero.

Commenting on the stock of fertilizers containing pathogenic microorganisms that have been rejected by the research of the world renowned National Plant Quarantine Service, the Chinese Ambassador said that the Sri Lankan authorities and the Chinese company have agreed to have a sample of the fertilizer stock tested by a third party.

He said that the people of Sri Lanka are paying special attention to the Chinese fertilizer ship and that this is a commercial issue with a Chinese fertilizer company and not a diplomatic issue.
