Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese admits that a woman dies in a hand of her partner due to domestic violence every four days and he described it as a national crisis today.
The prime minister of 27 million nation which records 27 women deaths in the past months of this year due to domestic violence made these remarks following a nationwide protest against the crisis on Sunday (yesterday).
A large number of Aussies rallied in cities around Australia yesterday Sunday against violence. The protests have been organized to draw attention to the emerging crisis of the deaths of women allegedly caused due to violence. The Australian PM indicated that there is a need for action for all levels of the Australian government to do more to this kind of violence.
According to the Australian media Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has said that there needs to be a “fundamental shift in acknowledgment that” overwhelmingly, violence against women in Australia while
addressing a symposium on sexual violence.
