Irrigation, Sports, and Youth Affairs Minister Roshan Ranasinghe expressed his satisfaction with the acquittal of cricketer Dhanushka Gunathilaka and revealed that a decision regarding his cricket future in Sri Lanka would be determined through discussions with the National Sports Council.
Minister Ranasinghe made these remarks in response to questions from journalists during his participation in an event at the Mahaweli Cultural Hall in Welikanda, Polonnaruwa, today (28) evening.
He also spoke about cricketer Dhanushka Gunathilaka, stating, “With Mr. Dhanushka Gunathilaka’s acquittal, we are considering lifting the ban on his participation in cricket. We will discuss the conditions imposed on him and intend to consult with the National Sports Council to determine future measures. Subsequently, we plan to explore the possibility of him resuming his cricket career in Sri Lanka.”
