A social media activist Piyath Nikeshala has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department, police said.
He was reportedly arrested after the CID was summoned for a statement regarding the posting of a recorded phone conversation between Public Security Minister Tiran Alas and another social media activist on his YouTube channel.
Father Nikeshala was also arrested in June last year for broadcasting live on social media the burning of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private house in Colombo on July 09, 2022.
