A group of Army soldiers apprehend a suspect in possession of 4300 kg of turmeric and 80 kg of cardamom worth over Rs. 27 million in Pesalai, Mannar yesterday (14).
The troops of the 543 Brigade attached to the 54 Division had carried out the raid on intelligence information received. A cab used to transport the illegal consignment of turmeric and cardamom was also seized.
The suspect and the stock of turmeric and cardamom were handed over to the Talaimannar Police for further investigations.
