Sri Lanka Air Force says they have facilitated the President to fly to maldives according to the powers vested in a President of Sri lanka. Issuing a statement regarding the President’s departure to Maldives in an air craft Sri lanka Air Force further clarifies that according to the government’s request under the powers vested in an executive president of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, subject to the full approval of the Ministry of Defense, Katunayake Airport, immigration, customs and all other regulations, the President along with two security personnel will depart from Katunayake Airport to Mala Island.
The Air Force announced that it was given early this morning. Meanwhile Prime Minister’s office also confirmed that the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has lert for maldives early hours of this morning.
