Sri Lanka imposes travel ban from six African nations!

The Sri Lankan government has imposed a entry ban from six countries, including South Africa, with the rapidly spreading new Covid, omicron variant.

Accordingly visitors to South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Ezwatini are prohibited from visiting Sri Lanka.The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has called for quarantine of anyone who arrives during the last 14 days.

Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director General of Health Services, said that relevant work has been completed by now.

He added that information on the number of countries where the virus has spread is updated from time to time.

However, the virus experts are currently gathering information on how the country should be handled in the future regarding this virus and according to their reports, plans will be implemented in the future, the expert said.
