 SJB hands over No Confidence Motions to the Speaker

Two No Confidence motions against the government and the President handed over to the Speaker of Sri Lanka Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena by Samagi Jana Balavegaya this evening. It was handed over following Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila and 11 other political parties decision to motion sources said.

The decision was taken after a discussion between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and 11 parties independent of the government today.

Accordingly, it is said that a national consensus government will be formed after the victory of the no-confidence motion and further discussions will be held in this regard in the future.

It is learned that the national consensus government will be formed with the approval of the leaders of the political parties led by Basil Rajapaksa . However Samagi jana Balavegaya has put forwrd some conditions including abolishing executive presidency within certain period to support the government and hold election after 06 months sources further said.
