Serunuwara MOH employee goes missing in Arugam bay on Jan 1

A young employee of the Serunuwara MOH Office who went for a sea bath at Kottukal beach in Arugam Bay along with his friends is reported to have been missing since yesterday (1).

It is informed that the A.R.M.Shifan (29), father of a 2 year old is a native of Eravur. He had been working in the Serunuwara MOH Office in Trincomalee District when the incident occured. According to sources he had gone to the Kottukal beach along with his friends to ring in the new year. A sudden current had dragged him into the sea eyewitnesses said. In spite of the thorough search by the locals the man was not found. The search is now in progress with the help of the Navy divers.
