DIG in charge of the Police Legal Division Ajith Rohana says that a separate bill should be brought to strengthen the intelligence services to prevent terrorism.
He was testifying before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter attack yesterday (28) when he made the suggestion.
The DIG further stated that there are provisions in the Penal Code to take legal action against politicians if it appears they have any influence over arrested suspects.
The DIG was summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter attacks to make recommendations on changes to be made in the country’s legal system to prevent terrorism.
