The members Sri Lanka Administrative Service officers association, which includes all Ministry Secretaries, District Secretaries Senior government officials, have decided to steer clear of their official duties until further notice. They have also decided to disregard the official status of any district or provincial coordinating committee.
The members of the Administrative Service officers association to boycott any function held under the auspices of any politician.
The decision is in response to the attacks unleashed by the assailants on the peaceful protestors on the Galle Face Green.
They condemn the attacks on the civilians by the unruly elements at a time people are going through untold hardships, a statement issued by the association said. Since they have realised the government’s inability to resolve the current crisis, they call upon the Speaker to summon Parliament immediately to find a plausible solution with the participation of all parties represented in Parliament.
