The State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation and the State Ministry of Rural Industries Promotion including Clay, Brass, Cane and Wood are implementing a joint program to take the scientific knowledge of research institutes to the villages for the upliftment of rural industries.

A special discussion was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation with the participation of Dr. Sita Arambepola and Dr. Prasanna Ranaweera.

The objective of the integrated program is to provide traditional local industrialists with the technical know-how required to produce quality products that meet modern competitive market demand.

During the discussion, it was stated that the program will add value to the traditional materials used by the rural industrialists through scientific research, thereby creating new designs, modern technological machinery and so on.
