Sajith & SJB meet President Ranil on All Party Government!

The opposition leader Sajith Premadasa met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the President’s office today (05) afternoon along with the Samagi Jana Sandanhaya to discuss the formation of an all-party government.

President expressed his views regarding the All Party Government and his plans and said that he was confident of working unitely with Samagi Jana Balawegaya as the team is very familiar to him. And the President Wickramasinghe invited SJB to an all party government .

“In the year 1941, the main opposition in the British Parliament took over the ministerial positions while holding the position of Leader of the Opposition. The entire parliament was made into a government. We can implement the same tradition. ”

“In the 1977 government coup, 5/6 took power and formed a government and built the country. But now even with a 6/5 power, the country cannot be built without an all-party government. The only option is an all-party rule. “President further stressed.

The opposition leader Sajith Premadasa suggested to the President that the 19th amendment of the Constitution be carried forward as it is. He reiterated that when the president was swerving as the PM his pivotal role played to bring in the 19th Amendment. Also Mr Premadasa requested from the president to carry it further.

The Opposition Leader pointed out the need the number of constitutional councils appointed under the 20th amendment to keep it as it was in the 19th Amendment.

He further emphasized that more attention should be paid to finding solutions get rid of the worst economic crisis.
