Nine persons, including two foreigners, were arrested by the Kollupitiya Police yesterday (10) while having a party at the Crescat Monarch luxury apartment complex amidst strict travel restrictions and strict quarantine laws being enforced, said Senior DIG Ajith Rohana. They were arrested in the swimming pool area on the roof top of the apartment complex.
It has been revealed that the Sri Lankans are businessmen and the foreigners are British nationals staying in Sri Lanka. Among them are three women, one of whom is a foreigner. They are due to be produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today. According to police sources, the arrest was made on a tip off received by the police that a party was being held at the venue.
