A first-year student at the University of Kelaniya died in Colombo yesterday (10) due to a sudden illness. The deceased has been identified as Yadisha Sridharan, a 20-year-old resident of Inuvil, Jaffna. Her relatives have stated that there is a great deal of suspicion regarding her death.
She was a first-year student at the University of Kelaniya and living at a relative’s home in Welawatta when she fell ill and died on admission to the hospital.
The parents and relatives of the deceased university student have requested a formal inquiry into the death of their only daughter as they believe there is no reason for her to die in this manner.
