There, NPP leader, Colombo District Member of Parliament Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that the former Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne has received various threats, appeals and sometimes requests from the government as well as the opposition to not get on the stage of National People’s Power.

Mr. Dissanayake also said that he would emphasize to former Minister Sagala Ratnayake not to make various threats to the police officers.

The NPP leader also said that he would emphasize to the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa not to make these threats and demands to these police officers. He mentioned that Sagala Ratnayake as well as Sajith Premadasa should remember again and again that it is a part of that right to hold opinions and act in any political party, especially in a democratic framework of a country.

However, the MP further stated that many police officers who were with batons and tear gas during the previous agitations have appeared to fulfill their duty to the country today.
