Shakyan Rasaputthran Rasamanikkam, a member of Parliament, demanded to know the name of the politician who had doubled the value of the assets and sought compensation in the amount of 1000 million rupees.
He stated that politicians behave in this manner in a country where there is no money to even feed a child.
He quoted the headline of the Island newspaper and said the appraiser has also become helpless because this politician has apparently increased the value of the loss and demanded compensation to the tune of one thousand million rupees.
He proposed to the Speaker to reveal the name of this politician to Parliament.
“What kind of business did he do to earn an asset of one hundred Rs 1000 million?” Has he submitted the compulsory statement of assets and liabilities? If it is a 1000 million worth of property, where did he get that money from? We need to explain this to the people of the country.
