Random Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) will be done for individuals from 12.00 noon today until further notice at 12 entry and exit points of the western province on Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
According to him armed forces will erect special barricades in collaboration with the health Ministry at Thoppuwa Bridge at Kochchikade, Badalgama Bridge at Heladeniyawa, Helagalla Junction in Nittambuwa, Giriulla Bridge in Mirigama, Samanabedda Bridge in Dompe, Wahagoda Bridge in Hanwella, Bentara in Aluthgama, Thiniyawala Junction, Ketakedella Bridge in Ingiriya Saman Devale point in Baduraliya, Avittawa Bridge in Meegahathenna and the Welipenna Interchange on the Southern Expressway.
“These Random Antigen tests are done in order to identify the Covid patients in order to prevent spreading the of the deadly virus to other areas and within Western Province,” DIG Rohana said
