A confidential meeting has taken place between the Director-General of the Colombo Port City Project Houliang Jiang and the Leader of the United National Party, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, political sources told to Lankasara.
They have met in Colombo last week and but both parties have agreed not to disclose the facts they discussed. However, It is revealed that during this meeting the plans and projects of the previous “Yahapalana” government regarding the port city project were discussed.
According to sources, the current economic situation was also discussed at the meeting.
In addition to the former Prime Minister, former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Sagala Ratnayake, Deputy Leader of the United National Party Ruwan Wijewardene also participated in the discussion. Following the discussions, the Port City DG has offered a dinner to Mr Wickramasinghe and the team.
