Public health officials have taken steps to quarantine the Chairman of the Lankapura Pradeshiya Sabha and six others.
It is reported that these steps have been taken as he had come to cast his vote in violation of the quarantine rules during yesterday’s election.
The Chairman and his family members had gone to the polling station to cast their votes despite being in self-quarantine. As a result Public Health Inspectors have now directed them to the Punani Quarantine Center.
