Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (31) released the convener of the Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige. Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis further said the prosecution has created evidence against Mudalige to misuse the provisions of the PTA.
Wasantha Mudalige was arrested on 18th August 2022 and held for over 05 months under detention and in remand. He was charged with allegedly committing offenses under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis held that charges leveled under PTA are not applicable to Wasantha Mudalige.
