Energy Minister Gamini Lokuge says that the President is working on a plan to end the existing queues in another seven to eight months.
Speaking to the media, he said that after the collapse of the world economy, it would not be possible to sell coconuts from Sri Lanka and earn dollars, adding that it would take another seven to eight months to end the queues.
The Minister also said.
After the collapse of the world economy we can not sell coconuts from here and earn dollars. We are in that difficult basic situation. Therefore, we are now trying to bring MP Gotabhaya Rajapaksa back to the country and further strengthen the tourism industry and the export industry.
It will take another seven or eight months. Then we will be able to find a solution to this problem.
We are aiming to complete these queues in another seven to eight months.
