The Ranaviru Seva Authority has announced that the “National Victory Celebration,” marking the 16th anniversary of the victory against the LTTE terrorists, will be held tomorrow (May 19) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief.
The celebration is scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the War Heroes Memorial in Kotte, Sri Jayewardenepura.
Organized under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Defense, retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, the event will be attended by prominent military leaders, including Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, who led the tri-forces during the final battle, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda, and Marshal of the Air Roshan Gunathilaka.
