President Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrived in the Maldives this morning (28) on a state visit, landing at Velana International Airport to a warm and ceremonious welcome.
Upon arrival, the President was received with full honours, including a salute from the Maldives National Defence Force. He was welcomed by Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who extended his congratulations and exchanged greetings with President Dissanayake in a cordial atmosphere.
At the special guest arrivals terminal, a group of young girls performed a traditional cultural dance to mark the occasion. President Dissanayake warmly interacted with the performers and briefly engaged them in conversation, appreciating the warm hospitality extended by the Maldivian hosts.
The official welcoming ceremony was held later this afternoon in Malé, the capital of the Maldives, under the patronage of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The event took place at a ceremonial square and signified the start of the Sri Lankan President’s official engagements during his visit.
