A comprehensive investigation is underway by the police after a premature baby fetus was found in the female toilet system of the Gampaha Lyceum International school.
Yesterday (20) evening, this baby fetus was found by the person washing the toilets of the school.
The Bemmulla police received the complaint at 4 pm that day regarding the incident. After receiving the complaint, the Bemmulla police officers along with the officers of the Gampaha Criminal Investigation Department have started investigations.
It has been found in the police investigations that it shows signs of an abortion and that this fetus is not an old one.
Police sources said that after the post-mortem examination of the fetus today, the investigation department is preparing to get a court order and conduct a comprehensive investigation.
