These facts were revealed during a discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (29) regarding the future plans of the State Ministry of Postal Services and Journalism and Professional Development.
There was a lengthy discussion on the possibility of introducing new services and making the department profitable through high technology.
It has been decided to transform the old Post Office buildings in many districts of the country into tourist attractions and to modernize the old Central Postal Building located in Colombo Fort while preserving its antiquity.
