Police Headquarters today (07) put out an appeal seeking public assistance to locate an Inspector attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) who is currently on the run. The Police are searching for the Inspector after it was revealed that he may have a connection to the recently uncovered drug smuggling ring involving officers in the PNB.
Police sources said they believe IP Saman Wasantha Kumara, a resident of Kirikaththa, Weliweriya is the mastermind behind the ring. He has been missing since the arrest of several PNB officers over the same allegations. Police have also obtained a travel ban against the officer.
Police have requested the public to provide any information on the officer to the below-mentioned numbers.
