The Baddegama Police has arrested a Policeman, who had allowed a friend to borrow his uniform for a photoshoot. According to the Police, the arrested Policeman, a constable was attached to the Maharagama Police Station.
A man had been arrested for the possession of heroin in Athkandura recently. When arresting officers had perused his mobile phone they had discovered several photographs showing the suspect in a Police uniform.
When questioned the suspect had said he borrowed the uniform from the Policeman who had attended a party held at the suspects home and taken several photographs while wearing it. The Policeman had been identified from his service number and been instructed to report to the Police. While he had evaded the Police, he was later arrested when he had visited the Police station for a duty matter.
Baddegama Police are carrying out further investigations into the incident.
