Yesterday (01), a portion of the roof of Matara Inn was damaged a helicopter carrying the Prime Minister landed at the Matara Fort Stadium to attend the funeral ceremony of the late Ronnie De Mal.
The Matara Inn has been rendered unable to provide its usual services since yesterday (01), as a section of the roof was dislodged by the wind, resulting in a significant amount of food wastage, according to the management of the inn.
Fortunately, there were no reports of harm to customers of Matara Inn or to the group accompanying the minister during the incident.
