The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has increased Petrol and Diesel prices with effect from 2 am today. LIOC also raised prices in line with Ceypetco prices.
Accordingly, a liter of 92 octane Petrol has been increased from Rs. 50 to Rs. 470 and a liter of 95 octane by Rs. 100 to Rs. 550. The new price of a liter of diesel is 460 rupees, an increase of 60 rupees. A liter of super diesel has been increased by 75 rupees to 520 rupees.
Meanwhile fuel station owners say that about 70 petrol stations across the country are currently shutting down. The Minister of Energy has been informed about the inability of supplying fuel and all activities in the country are in danger of paralizing in the next few days.
