Ministry of Health has taken steps to provide all the equipment and medicines required for the surgery Dr. Arjuna Tillekeratne, Director of the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital said.
The director of the hospital said that this was due to the news spread on social media that the surgery was stopped due to the shortage of essential medicines and equipment.
The Director of the hospital said that all the surgeries will be resumed from this afternoon with the provision of all facilities by the Ministry of Health and the relevant steps have been taken so far.
An internal letter sent by Director was widely circulated among medical professionals through social media stated that the hospital management has decided to suspend all routine surgeries due to non availability of medicines and surgical instruments. In response to that, the ministry has swiftly acted to supplies to resume surgeries.
