The Eastern Province Missing Persons Organization has made arrangements to hold a peace procession near the Kalladi Bridge in Batticaloa on July 30 to mark the International Day of the Disappeared.
Amalaraj Amalanayaki, head of the Missing Persons ‘Relations Organization in the Eastern Province, says missing Persons’ Associations, which have been battling the loss of their loved ones for the past three years, continue to struggle after 72 of its members, parents of missing persons have passed away.
The rally was jointly organized by the three districts of the Eastern Province. The rally will start from Kalladi Bridge and proceed to Gandhi Park, where a letter will be handed over to the UN Human Rights Council.
