PCR tests at Welisara camp concluded : Navy Covid 19 cases decreasing

PCR tests on persons within the Welisara Navy camp has concluded. According to the Cheif Epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health, Epidemiology unit Dr Sudath Samaraeera positive Covid 19 cases within the Navy are decreasing. He also confirmed that PCR testing within the Welisara Navy camp which became the largest Covid 19 cluster in the country has now concluded as well.

Nearly 522 Naval personnel who tested positive for Covid 19 has recovered since. 34 Naval personnel were treated and released in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 1835 Covid 19 positive cases were reported from Sri Lanka while 883 are still being treated. 941 have recovered and been released back to society.
