Pallegama Sumana Thero from the Bomiriya area, has been arrested by the police today (08) after an incident where he was allegedly attacked by villagers while being found in compromising situations with two women.
The thero known for his controversial behavior and involvement with women, was summoned by the police to provide a statement in response to complaints filed by local residents regarding his inappropriate conduct towards several women in the area. Subsequently, he was taken into custody by the authorities.
Recent revelations suggest a connection between Pallegama Sumana and Magalkande Sudatta, another thero who was caught in a compromising situation involving same-sex acts while in Japan. Both individuals are suspected of attempting to exploit racial tensions for political gain, thereby creating unnecessary conflicts within the country.
Pallegama Sumana is facing legal consequences for his involvement in polygynous relationships and was found guilty in court for assaulting and sexually harassing women.
Action is being taken regarding the video clip of the assault of the two women and the thero by a group of villagers who caught them, that is circulating in social media.
The apprehended Chivaradhari, Pallegama Sumana, was expected to appear before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (08).
