The criminal investigation department has arrested the owner of the company that imported the vials of immunoglobulin antibodies to Sri Lanka by preparing false documents.
The National Medicines Regulatory Authority had confirmed on the last 10th that the Indian company mentioned in the labels of the Immunoglobin vaccine that had been brought to Sri Lanka is an organization that manufactures garlic-related products that do not manufacture drugs.
The National Medicines Regulatory Authority confirmed this in an email exchange with the company mentioned on the label of the drug concerned. The company had confirmed that no such medicine has been exported to Sri Lanka or any other country by the company.
It has been revealed that the company that imported the stock of Immunoglobin drugs has also imported a stock of 2250 vaccines called Rituximab.
The NMRA also states that during the investigation regarding the related drugs, it was confirmed that the documents were forged, and the Immunoglobin drug was imported.
