Over 30 people were injured in the serious accident that occurred when two buses head-on collided on Kany Colombo main road near Kadjugama police said.
A CTB bus bound for Trincomalee has collided with a Negambo private bus which was traveling from Kandy to Negambo causing serious injuries to passengers Nittambuwa Police said. Due to the accident, the traffic movement on the main road has been halted nearly for an hour.
Wathupitivala Hospital says that patients are still being brought to the hospital.
The accident occurred when the bus traveling from Colombo to Trincomalee collided head-on while the Negombo bus carelessly overtook a vehicle.
Nittambuwa police said six people were seriously injured among the injured.
The Nittambuwa police say that traffic has been restored by removing the blocked buses from the route.
