One person has been admitted to the Hanguranketha Regional Hospital after being injured in an assault allegedly carried out by the Hanguranketha organizer and candidate of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Jayalath Dissanayake.
Dissanayake was arrested by the Hanguranketha Police yesterday (23) and was produced before the Walapane Magistrate’s Court.
The attack had taken place in the Hanguranketha area and the injured was identified as Praneeth Attanayake (25), the driver of Sumith Galwala, a coordinating officer of former Minister C.B Ratnayake.
The victim, a resident of the Damunumaya area in Hanguranketha was attacked when he had arrived in the Hanguranketha area with the coordinating officer Sumith Galwala for a duty related purpose.
