NPP meets Cardinal to pledge justice to Easter Sunday attack victims

The National People’s Power met Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith yesterday (18) to present their pledge to do justice to the victims of the Easter Sunday terrorist attack that took place 5 years ago, on April 21, 2019. The NPP delegation met the Archbishop at the Borella official residence.

The National People’s Power government will implement the law properly to provide justice to the lives lost in the brutal suicide bomb attack on 21 April 2019 (Easter Sunday) by a group of extremists targeting Catholic and Christian worshippers, and the family members who were helpless due to that attack. The document includes 07 main points which emphasize that proper legal action will be taken against the people directly or indirectly involved in the attack.

Professor Krishantha Abeysena, lawyer Sunil Vatagala, President’s counsel Upul Kumaraperuma, senior lecturer Rohan Fernando, Aruna Shantha Nonis and others joined the meeting representing the National People’s power.
