A generating unit at the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant that was taken offline for scheduled maintenance has been restored to operational status, though electricity from the unit has not yet been synchronised with the national grid.
Officials said the power generated by the unit is expected to be added to the system within the next few days, following final technical checks and grid integration procedures.
The Norochcholai Power Plant has a total installed capacity of 900 megawatts, generated through three units. At present, only one unit is supplying electricity to the national grid.
Another unit remains out of operation, with work continuing to bring it back online. Authorities indicated that restoration efforts are underway to progressively stabilise generation capacity at the plant.
