His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith the Colombo Arch Bishop says that the cabinet that was sworn in by this government today cannot be accepted, rejecting even the admonitions of the Most Ven Chief Prelates.
He made this statement during a special press conference held at the Archbishop’s House today (18).
The cardinal points out that the public letter issued by the Tri Nikaya’s chief incumbents also states that the current government should resign and accept an interim government acceptable to all.
He says that even those demands cannot be accepted by the cabinet appointed today, and that it is just an illusion that does not meet the expectations of the people and does not have a practical answer to the problems of the people.
