In an unprecedented victory, the National People’s Power (NPP) secured a two-thirds majority in the election, winning 159 seats. The party dominated in 20 districts, with Batticaloa District being the only exception, where they managed to secure one seat.
The NPP emerged as the clear leader, garnering 6,863,186 votes, which accounted for 61.56% of the total votes. Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) followed in second place with 1,968,716 votes (17.66%), earning 40 seats.
The New Democratic Front (NDF) came in fourth, receiving 500,835 votes (4.49%) and winning five seats. The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) followed with 350,429 votes (3.14%), securing three seats.
The Ilankei Tamil Arasu Party received 257,813 votes (2.31%), gaining eight seats. Additionally, the Sarvajan Balaya Party (SBP) secured one seat, rounding out the results.
