The founder of the National Namal Uyana, Ven. Vanavasi Rahula Thera has said if not for him Namal Uyana would have also been bulldozed and the trees cut down by those in power.
The Thera has mentioned this in a post on his social media account. The Bhikku was referring to the widespread deforestation happening across the country. He has also put up several posts in this regard in recent times. He has also called on the people to join hands to plant trees across the island.
