The annual festival of the Nallur Kandasamy temple in Jaffna commenced in a grand manner yesterday (21) witnessing the participation of more than one lakh devotees in the first puja.
Dedicated devotees who had made sacrifices for the Nallur Kandasamy temple, actively took part in the initial puja and presented their offerings.
In terms of security, this year’s festival has seen the deployment of over 800 police officers to ensure the safety of the event. Furthermore, the temple premises are monitored by 28 specialized cameras, providing comprehensive coverage of the Nallur temple grounds.
The annual festival of the Nallur temple is scheduled to continue until September 15.
A specially designed traffic plan has been implemented in the city of Jaffna to accommodate the event and its attendees.
