The Cricket Technical Committee, appointed by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe and chaired by Sanath Jayasuriya, was recently cold-shouldered by Sri Lanka Cricket officials when they arrived at the Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters.
This meeting was held at Sri Lanka Cricket, and only three members of the Minister’s Technical Committee, along with the Director General of Sports, participated.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Mahela Jayawardena, a high-ranking official and advisor to Sri Lanka Cricket, has participated in the meeting, and the minister’s committee has been despised by the SLC group.
Although it is a committee appointed by the sports minister, it has been learned that the cricket authorities have treated the views of this committee with repudiation.
They have informed the minister’s committee that, as Sri Lanka Cricket, they have devised a ten-year plan for the development of cricket.
Sanath, who finally returned after packing up, informed the sports minister about this.
It is said that this is the reason why Sanath had to avoid reporters when they inquired about the meeting that took place at the SLC premises.
