A woman in the Katpahapuram area in Vavuniya has died by suicide at her home yesterday (14) after failing to repay a loan from a microfinance company.
The victim was identified as a mother of two, Muthukumar Ghajini, 27, a resident of the village.
She had died by suicide when left alone at home and sources said she had on several occasions told her mother that she was being troubled by the agents of the company she had obtained the loan from. Vavuniya Police are carrying out further investigations into the incident.
