He said the economic crisis facing Sri Lanka was created by Sri Lanka itself and that the war in Ukraine had exacerbated the situation.

However The PM did not comment on the receipt of 90,000 metric tons of crude oil from Russia to reactivate the Sapugaskanda oil refinery.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that his government was in talks with China to restructure the debt.

“We need to identify the projects we need to get the economy back on track and get loans from China or others for those projects,” he said. We need to find out where we should put our resources, ”he said.
