Major Road Accident in Anuradhapura Claims Four Lives

Four people have died and four others have been injured following a head-on collision between a lorry and a van at the Thalawa–Mirigama junction on the Kurunegala–Anuradhapura main road.

Police said the accident occurred early this morning (25). The lorry was heading towards Anuradhapura, while the van was traveling from Anuradhapura to Kurunegala.

Seven people, including the drivers of both vehicles, were admitted to Thalawa and Anuradhapura hospitals. Four passengers in the van succumbed to their injuries.Police say that the victims are employees of Hydramani Garments factory in Pudukudirippu , Mulativu

Thalawa Police are conducting further investigations.
