Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte and his wife, Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, who were arrested on charges of using an illegally assembled motor vehicle, have been further remanded until the 18th of this month.

The remand order was issued after the couple was presented before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court today (November 7).

The case involves a luxury motor vehicle without license plates, owned by Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, which was recently discovered parked at a three-story house on Embuldeniya Hall Road, Mirihana. Following investigations by the Mirihana Police, it was revealed that the vehicle had been illegally assembled.

Mr. Ratwatte was arrested by the Mirihana Police in Katugastota on October 30 in relation to the incident, produced before the court, and remanded until today (November 7).
