Life Security Officers Rescue Three Couples from Drowning in Panadura Sea

Yesterday (040 life guard officers in Panadura successfully saved the lives of three young couples who were in drowning in the sea. The couples, Charles Anthony (20), Selvaraja Santhosh (16), Fancy Vinod (16), Santhuruksan Ruksika (16), Mohandas Dinusha (15), and Paradhan Dinusika (16), residents of Lellupitiya, Ratnapura, had come to Panadura beach for recreation.

While swimming, the six individuals were caught by a wave and slowly dragged towards the shore, about 50 meters away. In a desperate situation, they cried out for help. Promptly responding to the emergency, Sergeant Susantha and Constable Deshan jumped into the water with life tubes, followed by a Navy Life Guard Officer.

The officers successfully rescued the individuals from the turbulent waters. After providing basic first aid, the rescued young people were safely sent away. Police Sergeant 52141 Susantha, Constable 93731 Deshan, and Marine Kalubowila were commended for their swift and effective life-saving operation.
