Laksala, Sri Lanka’s leading local handicraft brand, is set establish worldwide with it’s franchises Dayasiri Jayasekara, State Minister for Batik, Handloom Textiles and Local Apparel, told Lankasara.
Accordingly, such authorized franchise outlets have already been set up in London and Florida in the United States, he said.
The Minister further said, “We are taking Laksala to the world, but the government is not spending a single penny. Some entrepreneual expats living overseas have expressed their interest on starting franchised outlets at their respective countries anod counties. So we let them to do the business with our Laksala Brand. we charge them US $ 500o for each per year. , so that we can facilitate the sale of the work of local artists and industrialists. With this expansion obviously country would relieve in some extent from suffering Dollar crisis while ensuring lucrative income to artists in folks. He added
